Expanses of blemish-free grass is a goal of many. There are some that strive for a beautiful yard - working hard, spending lots of money, and investing countless hours on backbreaking work. Others simply want passable turf, so they hire a lawn company to mow and blow – just enough to keep up with the Joneses and not embarrass themselves with what appears to be an abandoned yard.
Regardless of what end of the spectrum you find yourself, know this:
When Moles tunnel for food, they leave haphazard mounds above the surface as they burrow underneath. Mole damage is obvious – a lovely, smooth lawn will have bumpy tracks that force the turf upward and create air-filled holes under the turf roots. Moles are the bane of the lawn owner’s existence.
Besides being ugly and ruining the look of expansive turf, the grass pushed up from the burrowing moles is now fighting for survival. Air pockets under the roots dry them out and therefore kill the grass. As these tunnels stick up, the blades of lawn mowers can basically decapitate the grass that has been pushed upwards leaving even greater empty spots. As the tunnels have no rhyme or reason, mole damage will leave behind a mosaic of trails winding through lush, thriving turf. Repair is costly, takes a LONG time to heal, and immediately makes a beautiful lawn look uncared for, sickly and unhealthy.
How to control Moles? Simple – eliminate their food source. If they have no food supply in your yard, they will go elsewhere.
Sounds easy enough… so, how do you keep the ‘food’ of Grubs and Mole Crickets out of your yard?
A Greenbug System offers Automatic Pest Control through your Irrigation System. Using Nature’s ingredient of cedar, a Greenbug System controls bugs (Mole Crickets and Grubs) wherever irrigation water is directed. Adult female pests will not nest in a yard with a Greenbug System. They will NOT lay eggs underground in your lawn because the Greenbug barrier at the surface controls them. No bug ever goes where it will knowingly die so they avoid the area altogether.
Yet a Greenbug system is completely safe for humans, pets, birds, the environment and beneficial pollinators like honeybees and butterflies. But if you are a Grub, a Mole Cricket, or a host of other non-desirable bugs, it is lights out!
So, if you don’t want Moles Crickets, Grubs or a long list of other bugs in your yard (Mosquitoes, No-See-Ems, Fire Ants, Roaches, Fleas, Ticks, etc.), a Greenbug System will make it happen. Automatically. Without harsh, toxic chemicals. A Greenbug System is the safe way to get rid of moles.
Traditionally, pest control is performed by exterminators who use synthetic chemical pesticides that are sprayed inside and outside the home. It may occur on a regular schedule but that is a lot of manpower so it is hardly automatic!
What would be an Automatic Pest Control System? A system that operates independently to control pests. Is there such a thing?
Yes! The Greenbug System is here! But before that, there were some others but they had some serious limitations.
The first automatic pest control system was geared toward mosquitoes by using propane tanks that emitted carbon dioxide which supposedly mimicked humans. Therefore, the idea was the mosquitoes would be attracted to the tank and not the guests enjoying the outdoors. But alas, these were not much of a solution. Granted, they ran on a timer (automatic) and they did attract some mosquitoes, but the effectiveness is minimal as the mosquitoes want blood - not carbon dioxide! So, the mosquitoes would still find the people and bite away.
The next generation was the mosquito misting systems comprised of a 55 gallon tank of chemicals and small misters (emitters) placed around the limited areas desiring protection. Several times a day the pressurized emitters mist synthetic chemicals in the atmosphere to kill mosquitoes. Unfortunately, these misting systems are now considered an environmental disaster! They can also kill honeybees, butterflies, birds, and there are instances of small dogs getting very ill or dying. In addition, the heads clog regularly (or break altogether) and repairs are costly and frequent.
But now the Automatic Pest Control System has grown up!
Introducing the Greenbug System which offers automatic pest control for your entire property, both inside and outside using pest control ingredients from Nature - not a science laboratory. The Greenbug System integrates into your existing irrigation system and delivers a food-grade, natural cedarwood oil (just like cedar closets and cedar chests where you never see a bug!) so that everywhere water is directed is PEST FREE!
And it is completely automatic. Set-it-and-forget-it. Like an I.V. drip into the irrigation line, the Greenbug System will use a mere two minutes per zone per day.
And it isn't just mosquitoes it controls... a Greenbug System offers automatic pest control for fleas, fire ants, roaches, no-see-ems, ticks, chiggers, mole crickets, grubs and many more!
An Automatic Pest Control System does exist. It is called a Greenbug System and it works incredibly well.

Bed bugs were once thought to be gone. Forever. But they are back and with a vengeance. The primary reason is that the traditional pesticides that have been used to control them no longer work. They have become resistant to these man-made, synthetic chemicals and the bed bugs are now referred to as Super Bed Bugs.
How can we deal with this? Simple! Find a solution that is all natural and the bed bugs cannot become resistant. If Nature made it, it will work - always. If Man made it, there is a shelf life.
Which is exactly why Greenbug products are so effective in dealing with bed bugs. They are made of ingredients from Nature – not developed in a scientific laboratory. The active ingredient is cedar – just like cedar chests and closets where you never see a bug.
There are two ways of controlling Bed Bugs - Prevention and Treatment.
A treatment is when you have an infestation. An infestation of bed bugs is considered with a visual sighting of more than 1 adult bed bug and/or visual evidence of bed bugs in more than 2 locations within the home. Sounds like a low bar for a definition of infestation but there are reasons for that. Two in the open means many more hiding. Besides, left unchecked, two adult bed bugs can become 4000 in just over a month!
As for the evidence, it can be small streaks of blood on the mattress, dots of bed bug poop, or any evidence of casings as they molt their exoskeleton to grow. Two is the quantifier because some of this evidence may be old – so at least 2 samples would mean multiple blood suckers in the area.
Prevention is doing what you can do to avoid an infestation. In other words, do not bring them into your home. You may ask, "How can I avoid bringing home bed bugs?" Most people with bed bug infestations have absolutely NO IDEA where they came from! Greenbug controls Bed Bugs so we will be discussing prevention here.
Bed Bug Prevention
Materials needed:
Prior to entering a vulnerable location such as a hotel room, public transportation, a public seating area (theater), doctor’s office, school or even if visiting relatives.
Controlling ants with Greenbug is not difficult. The most important step in ant control is to determine how and where they are entering your space. You locate the entry points by following a trail of ants back to where you can see them entering. Maybe they are coming from under the sink. Possibly there is a crack between the tile back splash and your countertop. From under a window that does n0t quite seal? Or the trail is crawling along the baseboard from the garage. There are a gazillion ways ants can enter the home so you must follow their trails backwards until you figure it out.
Once the entry point inside is located, now turn attention to the outside. This is where it can get tricky because the exterior entrance is not always by the interior entrance…
If ants are coming inside via a windowsill, that is an easy find because the interior and exterior point is the same. But what if you have a stucco home and the ants have entered from a low spot along the ground… then tunneled between the stucco and the insulation down the entire side of the house before discovering an interior welcome mat. It is not always obvious! But both interior and exterior entry points are paramount for best control of ants.
The best practice is to start on the outside wall of where you found the ants inside and start looking from there. Once you have determined the entry points, it is time to control these nuisances!
Using either Greenbug Ready to Use or properly diluted Greenbug Concentrate, liberally spray these entry points both inside and outside. You are controlling the ants in the process of entering as well as making it clear future ants are not welcome. Spray to the left and right, up and down, side to side of these entry points for the best control. Spray these points every day for three days and you will see a huge difference.
The Greenbug Ready to Use or properly diluted Greenbug Concentrate will be a milky white liquid that will dry completely clear. It does not stain or harm surfaces. Do not be alarmed as it will disappear once it dries… but continue to apply so ants know their presence is forbidden!
If the infestation is severe, it may require a week of applications.
As ants are so resilient, the remaining ones from the nest will be searching for NEW entry points... So, after a treatment as described, be on the lookout for the next several weeks for new ant trails. As soon as you see any evidence of ants, repeat the above steps.
Greenbug controls ants and can give you your sanity back as you enter the kitchen - without an ant infestation!
]]>That could be the wood used to build your home as well as wood used to construct furniture, old instruments, antiques, etc. Termites are different from Subterranean Termites as these can be indoors and live without water.
If you have Drywood Termites, it will be obvious by the piles of ‘sawdust’ you see outside of the wood. But these piles of ‘sawdust’ are not sawdust at all – they are the fecal pellets of the termites boring into your wood. Yes, what you see when you think it is sawdust is termite poop piling up.
Drywood Termites do not like to live with their mess, so they form what are called ‘kick-out’ holes to push these fecal pellets out. If there are a lot of Drywood Termites doing a lot of damage, there could be multiple kick-out holes and multiple sawdust piles. Whatever wood the termites are eating and destroying will be the same color of the fecal pellets.
As soon as you witness this damage, you want to arrest it. Treating for Drywood Termites involves filling the tunnels with Greenbug by inserting it through the kick-out holes. There is no escaping the tunnels and the Greenbug will control them easily. The only unknown is how many tunnels there are and therefore how much Greenbug is needed to do the trick.
Materials needed:
Greenbug Concentrate, properly diluted
Greenbug Termite Injector and/or
Greenbug Termite Syringe
Or you can purchase the Greenbug "I've Got Drywood Termites" package.
One treatment is often adequate but keep an eye out for any developing piles of sawdust. As soon as you see a pile forming, address it as soon as possible to minimize future damage.
]]>Many of us suffer through allergies. There are all sorts of allergies - plants, animals, and foods can cause reactions. But what about the sacred space of our beds at night? Many people would not dream that their bed could be an allergen superhighway. Yet Dust Mites are one of the most common allergens and they are having a party in your bed!
Humans spend about a third of their lives sleeping. So, a third of our time is wallowing with one of the most common allergens. Our beds contain massive amounts of Dust Mites, literally millions. These microscopic bottom-of-the-food-chain pests feed on the dead skin cells we slough off in our sleep. They patiently wait on your return each night for an endless feeding buffet. Just the image of this is disgusting!
And why are we allergic to them? The allergic reaction is caused when we inhale the Dust Mite excrement. Yep, their poop. How nasty can it get? Armed with this horrific information, it is time you did all you can to get rid of these microscopic monsters!
Can we eliminate Dust Mites? Perhaps, but we can certainly minimize them. Following the steps below with your Greenbug products will make a huge difference to those with a Dust Mite Allergy!
Products Needed:
Step 1 - Laundry!
Step 2 - Treat your Space
Step 3 - Bathe
Following these steps with Greenbug will greatly reduce the Dust Mite Allergy issues in your home. You will sleep and breathe better and awake more rested and ready to go.
]]>Learn how to control Moths using Greenbug Ready to Use and Greenbug Concentrate in your home.
]]>When I was a kid, a friend's Mom would pay us a quarter for each moth we could kill as she hated what they did to her clothes and rugs each year. On a perfect summer evening, sometimes we could gather up to a mother lode of $3! That is how and when I learned how destructive moths are and my dislike for them has stayed with me my whole life!
There is nothing more frustrating than pulling out clothes from last season and finding them unusable because moths have been munching away. A favorite sweater now has a tiny pinhole that you cannot possibly repair. Or the edges of the expensive, designer rug in the dining room are suddenly frayed… These are sure signs of moth damage.
Moths lay their eggs in these food sources and once the eggs hatch, it is a never-ending buffet line costing millions of dollars. So, the key to controlling moths is prevention.
Here is How to Control Moths in your home with Greenbug
Materials needed
Be proactive against moths using Greenbug Ready to Use or Greenbug Concentrate properly diluted to minimize damage. You are basically creating your very own Cedar Chests and Cedar Closets with the Greenbug - clearly stating that moths are NOT WELCOME!
When the weather is perfect and all you want to do is be outside – 72 degrees, warm breeze… You step outside and become immersed in the glory of Nature, and then BAM!
It feels like a small razor cutting into your flesh. Then another, then another. Your arms get bitten, then your legs and your scalp sets on fire. These bites immediately start to itch as you bat away the ‘cloud’ of dust that is in fact, a swarm of the tiniest, most brazen pests in search of your blood… it is the dreaded No-see-em!
Also known as Sand Gnats, Sand Fleas, Biting Midges and flying teeth, No-see-ems are practically invisible biting bugs that will drive you indoors. Ask anyone who has played soccer, football or other sports on athletic turf and they know all about the misery of No-see-ems!
Well, worry no more because Greenbug has come to the rescue! Using Greenbug for People/Pets, you can be protected anywhere at any time. And if you want your entire property to be free of No-see-ems (yes, your entire property!), a Greenbug System and Greenbug Ready to Use or Greenbug Concentrate will make sure of it. Here is how…
Treatment for No-see-ems for you personally using Greenbug for People/Pets:
Eliminating No-see-ems on your entire property with a Greenbug System:
No-see-ems breed in moist soil and irrigated turf is prime breeding ground (second only to the edges of the salt marsh). A Greenbug System distributes Greenbug Concentrate through your irrigation system so that everywhere water is directed becomes pest free! There is NO WAY a female No-see-em is going to lay eggs in a yard with a Greenbug System! Here is more information on a Greenbug System.
If you do not have a Greenbug System, here is how to eliminate No-see-ems in an area you want protected:
Materials Needed:
Please note - it is not reasonable to expect a No-see-em free area if you spray just once or just the day before an event. That is because Greenbug is a natural product (not synthetic) and the Greenbug barrier must be built up and created. But once the barrier is intact, you only need to apply the minimum amount of Greenbug to maintain that barrier.
]]>Flea control breaks down into two categories – Prevention and Treatment. If you are not in a bad way with fleas, maybe a few here and there, then you are in the Prevention phase as you are trying to prevent an infestation. For those in this chapter, here are the steps:
Flea Prevention:
Greenbug Concentrate, properly diluted
If you are dealing with an infestation of fleas in your house, that is another thing completely. I would describe an infestation as the pet is constantly itching and you are getting flea bites on your ankles. That is a moderate infestation. If that is the case, here are the steps:
Flea Infestation, Moderate:
Notes:
The most important directive when controlling a flea infestation is that the pet is the LAST step in treatment. First the source of fleas is addressed, then the environment treated, and then the fur baby gets treatment. The poor animal is a victim just as much as you and they are not the cause – the fleas are coming from somewhere and need to be controlled!
If you'd like your entire property to receive Automatic Pest Control using Greenbug so that inside and outside your home are Flea-free - consider a Greenbug System!
]]>No need for toxic, chemical pesticides that no longer work. Greenbug controls Fire Ants!
]]>Scientists have never quite figured it out, but Fire Ants have some uncanny skills of communication between them. If you have ever been bitten by them, it typically is not one Fire Ant bite – it is several, sometimes dozens of Fire Ant bites. They do this by getting as many ants as possible on the victim and then they all bite at once. How could they know? It is that crazy communications thing going on and it takes a bad situation and makes it dreadful.
Traditional pesticides used to treat Fire Ant mounds are bait that is supposedly taken to the Queen. But if you have tried this before, you know that the outcome is the Fire Ant mound in the back yard moves about 5 feet away. They are not stupid – they know bait - so they just start a new nest and keep right on going.
But Greenbug is different. Greenbug offers contact control for Fire Ants. As long as Greenbug touches a Fire Ant, they will be controlled. To treat a Fire Ant mound, you pour the Greenbug down into the tunnels and caverns and drench the Queen. Once a Queen is gone, the nest is as well. They have no purpose without a Queen so the nest dies.
To control a Fire Ant mound, follow the instructions below. A strangely formed nest may take a few attempts but Greenbug controls Fire Ants.
Materials Needed:
These nasty little creatures love the pantry and can infiltrate all sorts of stored dry goods. Grain Beetles are notorious for being difficult to control but Greenbug offers a simple solution.

Learn how to control Chiggers using Greenbug for People/Pets and Greenbug Ready to Use.
]]>Technically, these pests are not insects but are arachnids in the same family with spiders and ticks. They are found in every country and love to be in moist, grassy areas. Edges of the forests are good as well as the average American back yard. They lie in wait about a foot off the ground waiting for a victim to pass by and then they latch on.
Chiggers are most active when the soil temperature is between 77 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit and will die if it gets below 42 degrees. Therefore, Spring, Summer and Fall are when they are in search of food. Once on a victim, they travel in search or skin to do their damage and when you understand what chiggers do to your body, you will certainly choose to avoid them!
They actually do not bite, they inject their spit! Yes, they have sharp claws that poke holes in the skin to inject their saliva. Their saliva destroys skin cells and it becomes a mushy mess. Then the chiggers slop up that mush for food.
What is left behind is destroyed skin that itches, hurts and a chigger ‘bite’ takes a very long time to heal. There are often enough bites to appear as a rash.
The more Chiggers that find you, the more likely your reaction can be misdiagnosed as a rash. But this is not a rash, it is each individual injection site reacting to the saliva. YUCK!
So how can you avoid being made mush meat by tiny bugs?
First step, it helps to wear long sleeves and long pants with your pants tucked into your socks to avoid exposing skin. But that is easier said than done in the prime temperatures between 77 and 86 degrees! You can also avoid the areas that Chiggers like to dwell in – but there are other ways to protect yourself without avoidance techniques.
Before going outside, spray yourself with Greenbug for People/Pets. Apply all over your ankles, along tight fitting clothing, and exposed skin. Reapply as needed if you are perspiring or very active.
DO NOT use toxic, synthetic chemical pesticides because you will be absorbing the toxins into your skin.
Chiggers like to burrow where clothing is tight so spray thoroughly along the waistband and near undergarments. It is also smart to spray inside socks and in the cuffs of a shirt. If you are outside for a long time or if you are doing strenuous activity, it is a good idea to reapply.
As an extra layer of protection, you can add ¼ cup of Greenbug Ready to Use or Greenbug Concentrate, properly diluted, to the fabric softener cycle of your laundry. This will infuse your clothes with a extra layer of protection that will let the chiggers know that you are off limits!
With Greenbug products, you can control Chiggers!

That means piles and piles of laundry, a complete disruption of the family’s schedule and worst of all, hours spent combing those nasty little nits (or eggs) out of the hair.
Traditional head Lice treatment has been to use synthetic, chemical pesticides that have lost their effectiveness. These poisons are horrible for children – causing headaches, learning disabilities, even seizures and death.
But not anymore! These chemical toxins are no longer viable. That is why we now have what are referred to as Super Head Lice. With the honor of capital letters in the name! Super Head Lice do not respond to traditional treatments – they laugh and multiply asking for stronger, more toxic solutions.
But there is no need for these noxious products! We can turn to Nature herself for a solution that causes no harm, uses ingredients recognized by the EPA as generally safe, and destroys the nits (or eggs) so that you DON’T HAVE TO COMB OUT THE NITS!
What is this miracle? It is Greenbug!
Using Nature’s ingredient of Cedar, Greenbug for People/Pets will control the adult Head Lice on contact and then after using a shower cap for four hours to overnight, the nits (those pesky eggs) will be dehydrated and destroyed using Greenbug.
If your child has Head Lice, no need to worry – follow these simple steps below and you are golden!
With Greenbug, controlling Head Lice is quick, easy, and inexpensive!
Materials Needed:
Greenbug Concentrate, properly diluted
1 Shower Cap that fits snugly
White Fly (or White Flies) are insect pests that live primarily on the undersides of plant leaves. They are exceptionally small and are a huge problem in Greenhouses as they can make it through even the smallest of screens. They multiply very rapidly and cause a great deal of damage – in fact, in three different ways.
First of all, they suck out juices from the undersides of leaves. Not good but that is just the beginning. They then secrete what is known as ‘Honeydew” which is a rich sugary liquid that is basically pooped out of the White Fly as they suck on the plants. It is not just any old poop – the sugar-rich Honeydew grows an unsightly black mold. It is ugly and the mold blocks the sunlight from reaching the leaves - so the plant cannot perform photosynthesis, the very necessary process of gathering energy from the sun.
And there is more…
They inject their saliva into plants which is the biggest problem as their saliva carries a wide variety of plant diseases. So, White Fly suck, poop and spread diseases wherever they go.
Get you some Greenbug Ready to Use or some Greenbug Concentrate that has been properly diluted and put it in a hand or pump sprayer. If one plant is infested, a hand sprayer is fine. If it is multiple plants or one large plant, a pump sprayer is the best bet.
Firstly, spray the top of the plant like it is raining Greenbug. This helps create a barrier these suckers will not cross as they typically fly straight upwards when you come after them. After saturating the top of the plant, start at the bottom spraying the underneath sides of the leaves as best as you can. Move in circles around the plant so as not to miss any area as you circle upwards towards the top.
The Greenbug offers contact control which means you will need to make sure you have contact with each individual White Fly. Since there are probably thousands, you can see why controlling White Fly is not a one and done deal.
Do the exact same thing the very next day. And the next. By the third day, you should not see hardly any evidence of White Fly as you treat the plant.
If you ever have reason to suspect White Fly, get on it as soon as possible. The damage they cause can be swift AND if can take a while to present itself when it is sometimes too late (those pesky plant diseases take a while to present…).
Trust knowing that the Greenbug is safe – even on vegetables – and can tackle a White Fly infestation within days. And you can get back to the rest of your life without the fear of the dreaded 3-part problem known as White Flies.
]]>Green Living is an admirable goal but where do we begin? Here are three Guiding Principles of Green Living that can make it easy!
Using these guidelines can make Green Living pretty easy!
The next time you are at the grocery store, these Green Living principles will help you purchase food with minimal packaging (or hopefully packaging you can reuse), and foods that are organic, natural, and free of toxins.
Throughout your day, you can choose minimal waste options. Refill re-usable water bottles. Support companies and organizations that are Earth Friendly.
Another significant Green Living arena is to speak out against synthetic pesticides. Make sure you use natural pest control products like Greenbug in your home. Open conversations about pest control practices in places you frequent so that you’re not as likely to be exposed to odorless, colorless poisons you don’t know about.
Adopting a Green Living Lifestyle is easy when you guide yourself with Green Principles. Waste not, re-use, and eliminate toxins. You are on your way!
Learn why bed bugs have returned and how to treat them successfully. Greenbug controls Bed Bugs!
]]>Contrary to what you may read, it is absolutely possible that you can treat an infestation of bed bugs. Greenbug controls adult bed bugs and their eggs in one easy treatment that you can perform yourself!
The internet is loaded with information from pest control experts claiming that ONLY a pest professional can treat bed bugs. They also state that ONLY a pro can correctly identify them. And of course, they also stress that MULTIPLE treatments will be necessary.
How convenient that the ‘experts’ in a given service field are convincing the public that their particular service is the one and only solution to a given problem. And just to be clear, it will take multiple payments on your part as well.
Some of this ‘expert’ information is packaged quite well. The national level associations are great at getting quotes out to municipalities and government institutions that will repeat their expert advice verbatim. Word for word – “according to experts, you must hire a professional to deal with bed bugs.” When you hear something repeatedly, it starts to become fact. Problem is this is not a fact.
You can treat for bed bugs yourself! You can get rid of bed bugs in one treatment! You do not need to hire a professional!
Also, it is not necessary to use toxic, synthetic pesticides. In truth, a synthetic pesticide will lose effectiveness – hence the supposed ‘need’ for multiple treatments at the hands of pest control operators.
Other internet sites explain that heat treatments are the only way to treat bed bugs. Wrong again. Heat treatments are wildly expensive, can ruin your belongings, and cause a fire hazard as well.
If you want to treat a few bed bugs here and there yourself, you will need Greenbug for People/Pets.
Greenbug for People/Pets can be used as a spray to control bed bugs if they aren’t yet established yet as an infestation. If you’ve been dealing with bed bugs for more than several weeks, you are either there or on your way to an infestation and will need to treat with Greenbug using a fogger. Here is a link to more information.
If you have a Bed Bug infestation, you can perform a bed bug treatment using the Greenbug Bed Bug Infestation Treatment. You can control bed bugs on your own, without paying for an ‘expert’ or a ‘professional’. You can control bed bugs without toxic chemicals, without the risk of ruining all of your precious belongings and without spending thousands of dollars. Greenbug controls Bed Bugs and you are empowered to deal with a Bed Bug infestation yourself.
Don’t fall for internet news telling you to hire others to do what you can do yourself. With Greenbug, you can treat and control bed bugs yourself!
