Do It Yourself Pest Control

Congratulations!  You have chosen to switch to Do It Yourself Pest Control.  No more high service rates - that keep going up!  No more worry about the safety of what is being sprayed in your home.  Sure, they say it’s safe, but why do you need to cover your fish tank?  Or wait for the grass to dry before letting your dog out?  Hmmm…

Well, no more!  All you need is Greenbug and the know-how of what to do.  Below are all the steps you need for successful Do It Yourself Pest Control.

Before you Begin:

Go to your local Hardware Store and get yourself a 1 or 2-gallon pump sprayer. Or you can spray using a quart bottle - whatever you prefer.

Get some Greenbug Concentrate.  Choose a quart or a gallon depending on what suits your needs best.  After dilution, a quart of Greenbug Concentrate will make 8 gallons of product.  After dilution, a gallon of Greenbug Concentrate will make 32 gallons of product.

Using warm water, dilute the Greenbug Concentrate at a 1:32 dilution rate meaning 1-part Greenbug Concentrate to 32-parts warm water.

Shake the dilution thoroughly.  Seriously - shake, shake, shake it vigorously to mix.

Now you are good to go on your Do It Yourself Pest Control.  If you mix up more than your container can hold, just store it in a heated/cooled space until you need it.  Just shake thoroughly before each use.

The application of the Greenbug depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

If you really don’t have a bug problem and want to keep it that way:

Spray everywhere along the outside foundation of the home going up the home about a foot or so and away from the home onto the ground a foot or so.  This is establishing your Greenbug barrier so bugs will not come inside.  Do that every other week for 3 times and if bugs don’t show up, stretch it to every three weeks.  If bugs show up, go back to once a week application if needed and then stretch it out again.

You cannot use Greenbug to a level of not being safe – it is actually identified for use in and around food. But you don’t want to waste it.  Different seasons bring different bugs and challenges so increase applications if bugs ramp up and keep going longer between applications when you don’t see any bugs.

If you have more bugs than you want and want to control them asap:

Vacuum the entire home thoroughly.  Spray the baseboards of all walls inside the home.  Spray in floor cabinets and in closets as needed.  Spray everywhere along the outside foundation of the home going up the home about a foot or so and away from the home onto the ground a foot or so.  Do this every day for three days.  If there are still bugs inside, repeat three more days.  After these treatments, begin to stretch the time between applications starting with every other day a few times, then twice a week.  At this point with no bugs inside, you can just treat the outdoor of the home and do it like the instructions above.
