Spring Activities to Prevent Pests
Spring has Sprung! Hooray - nice weather again! But with nice weather, also comes bugs - pests that will ruin any good day. However, you do not have to be a victim to pests. There are activities, preventive measures and actions you can take now to minimize the pests you face the rest of this season.
How to prevent Ants:
At the first sign of ants, find the entry point and spray with Greenbug Ready to Use. The entry point may be where they enter the kitchen or it may be outside where they are entering the home. Spray the entry point several days in a row to arrest these crawlers!

How to prevent Mosquitoes:
Mosquitoes need standing water in order to procreate. Therefore, never have any standing water! If you have bird baths, refresh them daily. Look where gutters empty, be sure there are no pockets of standing water under plant pots, on the grill cover, on or in outdoor toys. If there is no standing water, mosquitoes cannot reproduce! If you have mosquitoes for some reason, use Greenbug for People/Pets on yourself and family to prevent mosquito bites.
How to prevent Roaches:
This is the hardest one because roaches are so wily and have perfected their survival instincts over thousands of years. But they prefer moist, decaying stuff which can be old firewood, leftover debris, the unchecked areas under the gutter spouts, trash cans, etc. Make sure the mulch on plants is not too thick, remove old debris wherever you find it, address any areas that have standing water, and avoid piles of anything like leaves, sticks, cut away blooms, etc. To prevent roaches from entering your home, spray Greenbug Ready to Use along all door thresholds, window sashes, and along all plumbing where it enters the home (under sinks).
How to prevent Garden Pests:
White Fly, Aphids, Japanese Beetles, etc. aim for plants that are stressed. Stress comes from a variety of issues but most likely from too much or too little water. Make sure plants are watered correctly which means enough to thrive yet not so much as to drown. Another cause of plant stress is lack of air circulation due to inadequate pruning or planting too close to other plants or to structures. Plants need air and too little opens the door for pests to set up camp. Also give plants the nutrition they need via compost top-dressing or fertilizer, mulch the roots adequately, and make sure your plants aren't getting tortured by basketballs or soccer balls. If pests are still an issue, spray with Greenbug Ready to Use.
Pests are opportunists and they descend on humans when they have awesome nesting sites and they attack plants when they are stressed. Addressing both of these issues will translate to fewer bugs throughout Spring and the rest of the year.
And for breakthrough bugs, Greenbug to the rescue!
