Why So Many Mosquitoes?!
"I am a huge fan of Greenbug using all-natural ingredients to control mosquitoes so I can enjoy the outdoors. However, I suddenly have mosquitoes! Why so many mosquitoes?
Unfortunately, Greenbug is not 100% coverage 100% of the time because frankly, nothing is. It is exceptionally effective most of the time, but there are certain circumstances when the perfect storm of events give mosquitoes the upper hand. What are those circumstances? Let’s explore in to avoid the 'Perfect Storm for Mosquitoes'.

Here are a few things about mosquitoes we need to know:
- Mosquitoes need standing water in which to lay their eggs. The mosquito eggs hatch into larvae that live in stagnant water for 3 days (give or take) until they emerge from the water as adult mosquitoes, ready to start feeding.
- If there is no standing water, there are no opportunities for mosquitoes to breed.
- Mosquito eggs can lay dormant for a very long time. Weeks, months, even years.

Here are things about how Greenbug works that are important to know:
- Greenbug controls pests everywhere properly diluted Greenbug is directed.
- If Greenbug-infused water is not being sprayed/applied to certain areas, there will not be Greenbug coverage in those areas.
- Hard surfaces such as driveways, patios, walkways, etc. are not typically treated and therefore will have no Greenbug coverage.
6. Here is the perfect storm situation with mosquitoes... If we have a dry spell for a while (especially when we get into drought conditions), there are very few areas for mosquitoes to breed. They are ALWAYS wanting to breed and actively breed whenever possible. If we suddenly get frequent or heavy rain after a dry spell, dormant eggs eagerly hatch in the myriad of places now available. All a mosquito egg needs to hatch into larva is ½ teaspoon of water – so think of all the upturned Magnolia leaves; the water standing at the base of gutters; the tray bottoms collecting water underneath container pots; tarps, trash can lids, toys, play equipment, etc. that have small nooks and crannies to hold water and breed these blood suckers.
The Perfect Storm is when we are coming off a dry spell with little to no mosquito breeding and suddenly there is a lot of rainfall offering many opportunities to breed. Couple that with frequent rainfalls for days in a row so the Greenbug barrier has a hard time getting established and you will have skeeters.

However, if you have an established Greenbug System with effective Greenbug coverage throughout all of the outdoor potential mosquito-breeding spaces, the 'Perfect Storm for Mosquitoes' is far easier to evade. Automatic, all-natural, set-it-and-forget-it coverage so no Mosquitoes thanks to Greenbug!
